Poway Chapter
In July 1999, a group of women began the process of establishing a chapter in Poway. But it wasn’t until January 2001 that the charter was signed. This academic year, the chapter is proud to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of that historical day when the charter was signed and the Poway Chapter became official.
National
National Charity League, Inc. (NCL), is a national nonprofit organization comprised of mother and daughter members in chapters across the United States.
For 95 years, NCL has thrived as one of the nation’s most distinctive and well-respected nonprofit mother-daughter membership organizations. NCL embraces three primary pillars. It is committed to community service and opportunities to learn about our community’s basic needs and take action to help solve them.
It’s committed to leadership development and opportunities to solve problems, build teams, garner consensus, create healthy relationships, plan events and learn parliamentary procedure to develop as leaders. It’s also committed to providing opportunities to take part in cultural experiences and cultivating and embracing values, traditions and community connections.
As a national, multi-generational nonprofit organization, our mothers and daughters have volunteered for nearly a century to help local communities and philanthropies. Currently, NCL has more than 200,000 members and alumnae are a part of 279 chapters in 29 states and, together, have volunteered 3 million hours and made a philanthropic impact of $68 million. The numbers are staggering. The difference is long-lasting.
